All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is an all-India examination for students who would like to get into premier engineering or architecture educational institutions like the REC (Regional Engineering colleges) and other top engineering institutions in India. AIEEE test is similar to IIT test in terms of the intention and the paper sections. Most of the aspiring students would appear for both these tests.

The benefits of AIEEE test are to gauge the capability of students to excel in engineering, planning or architectural courses.

Who should take the test?

To be eligible for the AIEEE test, candidates need to complete their school and intermediate education or equivalent from any recognised college. Candidates need to at least get 50% marks for students in open category and for reservation categories the minimum pass mark is 40%. Students below 25 years of age are eligible for the AIEEE test. In addition, the maximum number of attempts for AIEEE test is 3.

How to book for the test?

Central Board has allowed candidates to book for the AIEEE test in both online and offline methods. There are dates for each of these methods. AIEEE test is held only once a year. There could be two different dates for the AIEEE test in offline and online modes. There will be a mention of the formats of making payment for the test like DD, Check, etc.

What does the test have?

The maximum time duration of the AIEEE test is 3 hours. Multiple choice questions are asked in the examination. There is also negative marking in the AIEEE test.

The AIEEE test comprises of the following sections to test the candidates:

  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Data reasoning
  • Drawing skills

Candidates applying for B.Tech will have to appear of the mathematics, physics and chemistry papers. Whereas candidates interested in B.Arch or B.Planning are required to pass mathematics, data reasoning and drawing skills tests.
