COMMON APTITUDE TESTS


Common Aptitude Test, popularly known as CAT is an All India Entrance Exam conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) for admissions into MBA. The scores in this test enable the test taker to seek admissions to various other colleges along with the IIMs.

Common Aptitude Test  Requirements:

CAT basically tests one’s knowledge in Verbal Ability, Reasoning and Problem Solving skills. So these areas need to be strengthened before appearing for the test. Also since from 2009 CAT has been made an online test, it is essential for the candidate to be a computer literate.

How to take the test:

A willing candidate has to log onto the CAT website and register for the test. Earlier the test was conducted on the third Sunday of November every year. But from now it is made a Computer Adaptive Test keeping in mind the number of people attempting it. So the candidate can book for an exam slot from the available slots. The opening of slots generally happens around August and the candidates should frequently visit the website for information. This is a multiple choice test and tests the candidate in various areas like logical reasoning, data sufficiency, aptitude, English language and data interpretation.
