DEPRESSION SCREENING TESTS

A depression screening test is the basic test conducted for individuals who fear that they are depressed or are diagnosed so. However they are not the substitute for any medical opinion. They just assess whether the individual needs attention or not.

These tests are multiple choice questions and the number and the depth depend on the type of test taken. A few tests question just on the general topics and try to figure out the personality of the individual before deciding on what type of questions need to be asked.

The questions asked may hover around lifestyle, personality, problems, major or minor changes that have taken place lately etc. They then score the individual depending on the answers. Typically it is a graph or a score card which is best interpreted by a medical expert. However a basic idea can be reached by reading the summary provided at the end of the result script.
