Graduate Management Admission Test, popularly called the GMAT, is an assessment that helps business schools assess the applicants applying for a Management degree. It is an online competitive test where there is competition to prove one as the best for the selection by the college.

What does the test do?

GMAT is an online exam testing the English and the quantitative ability of a candidate. The verbal and the quantitative scores range from 0 to 60 where as the total scores range from 200 to 800. in addition there is an analytical writing assessment with an issue and argument which is judged on a scale of 1 to 6. The test is of the following format:

  • Issue Analysis: 30 minutes with 1 topic
  • Argument analysis: 30 minutes with 1 topic
  • Break: 5 minutes
  • Quantitative: 75 minutes with 37 questions
  • Break: 5 minutes
  • Verbal: 75 minutes with 41 questions

All questions are multiple choice questions which test the basic knowledge in mathematics on areas of Algebra, functions, statistics, probability, data analysis, number and operations, geometry and in Verbal ability there is reading comprehension, sentence correction and sentence completion.
