What is MCSE Certification
The beginning step of a career in Networking involves a lot of specialized certifications. MCSE is the first step in these exams. This is one of the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exams. A Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) deals with the designing, installing, configuring and trouble shooting infrastructure on the windows server.
Benefits:
A MCSE certified personnel has the technical capabilities of working on the windows server based programs or solutions. A MCSE certified person carries a Microsoft certified stamp of immense value to his resume with him. He is hired as a Systems Engineer. Employers give preference to certified candidates.
Requirements:
In order to be MCSE certified an exam has to be given by the candidate. This has seven papers ranging from the list below.
- Networking systems
- Managing and maintaining a windows server 2003 environment
- Implementing, Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure
- Planning and Maintaining a windows server 2003 Network Infrastructure
- Planning, Implementing and Maintaining a windows server Active Directory Infrastructure
- Client operating systems
- Configuring Windows 7
- Configuring Windows Vista Client
- Installing, configuring and administering Windows XP Professional
- Design (Choose one)
- Designing a windows server 2003 Active Directory and Network Infrastructure
- Designing security for a windows server 2003 Network
- Elective
There are specifications options which enable the test taker to further enhance on the basics of MCSE.
How to take the test:
For booking an exam an authenticated Microsoft site is to be visited and since the exam can be scheduled on the convenient date and time of the candidate, a location of the test, date and time can be selected by the candidate. Each paper costs around 45 USD. The option of rescheduling or cancellation is also available.
